These days we come across the term ‘tipping point’ especially in climate change scenarios. In this context it denotes a critical threshold at which catastrophic developments dramatically accelerate and become irreversible. Conversely we might also think of development processes reaching a long-awaited independence, which is how a utopia suddenly becomes self-evident. May the seesaw or scales remain a simple image, a shift in balance, which in this call-out is intended to be the foundation for a thematic group exhibition, a festival of artistic approaches encountering one another at Oberwelt.
